Max Strang’s RockHouse, a masterwork in which the spirit of tropical modernist architecture and a Balinese aesthetic, merge to craft a tranquil experience synonymous with living among the treetops. From afar, the two-story residence resembles a floating structure, surrounded by lush vegetation and an abundance of Poinciana’s and Palms. Through the use of rich, earthy textures and natural and local materials, RockHouse brings the outdoors in. Tall, dark ebony- framed windows and polished concrete floors inhabit the longhouse-inspired open layout. The kitchen, dining and living room occupy one side of the ground floor while the grand master suite occupies the other. The second floor is comprised nearly entirely of terrace spaces with wood and steel railings and an industrial steel roof.
